a chicago musical festival

context

During the information architecture course I took at Northwestern University, I applied the various new design methods I learned, as well as the knowledge I gained from the Brainstation course to produce an app for a music festival for my final project. I carried out usability testing, interviews, and produced both low fidelity and high fidelity prototypes.

scenario

Jo is a record store owner with a passion for music. She has been attending music festivals for several years and enjoys going to see new artists perform. Jo is excited to attend rock the drive in July, and would love to be able to hear some of the music ahead of time to prepare.

card sorting

wireframing

iterations

Based on the card sorting, the user interviews, and the feedback I received from my wireframes, I was able to
prioritize the features for my high fidelity screens. I also composed a persona which helped me with my
thought process.

Important features included:

- electronic ticket
- ticket purchase
- lineup/schedule
- spotify connection
- map
- directory of vendors
- transportation
- plan my stay
